NAASF Behavioral Conduct and Sexual Harassment Policy

The NAASF disciplinary process is outlined in the Foundation’s Bylaws, Section X. This document supplements those bylaws and specifically addresses behavioral expectations, discrimination, and sexual harassment. NAASF is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all members and participants. In alignment with widely accepted corporate and U.S. government standards, NAASF maintains a zero-tolerance policy for unacceptable behavior, including but not limited to discrimination, harassment, and sexual harassment.

Reporting Concerns

Any individual who experiences or witnesses inappropriate behavior is encouraged to report the matter immediately to a NAASF Board Member and, when applicable, a representative of their respective airline. If an individual believes a crime has occurred, they should first contact the appropriate law enforcement authorities before notifying a NAASF officer.

Investigation Process

The NAASF President shall ensure that the following procedures are carried out:

  • A. Prompt, Thorough, and Impartial Investigation

A timely and unbiased investigation will be conducted. This includes interviewing all involved parties and any relevant witnesses. The individual accused of misconduct will have no authority or influence over the investigation process.

  • B. Immediate Preventative Action

Appropriate steps will be taken to prevent further misconduct during the investigation. These measures may include temporary restrictions or actions, consistent with NAASF Bylaws, to protect all parties involved.

  • C. Disciplinary Action

If a violation is confirmed, disciplinary action will be taken promptly and will be proportionate to the severity of the offense. The individual who reported the incident will be informed that appropriate action has been taken, while respecting confidentiality as required.

Disciplinary Action Levels

NAASF reserves the right to impose the following actions:

  • 1 Verbal Warning

Issued by the NAASF President to the individual involved.

  • 2 Suspension

Temporary suspension of membership and participation privileges for a duration determined by the Board of Directors. Reinstatement will require a formal review and approval by the Board.

  • 3 Permanent Ban

Permanent removal and exclusion from all NAASF- sponsored events and activities. Any reconsideration of status must be reviewed and approved by a vote of the current Board of Directors.

Member Responsibility

All NAASF members share responsibility for fostering a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment. Members are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that supports the dignity, safety, and well-being of all participants in NAASF activities.
